I would not trust that recipe. Living in Florida for many years everyone knows to use few drops in each ears of one part rubbing alcool and 3 parts vinegar will prevents ear infection due to humidity and swimming. But for cold and flu prevention the best one is to wash your hands and use Airborne a supplement to help reduce the chance for being sick.
