Loss prevention.?

can anyone out there give me the defintion of the loss prevention field? what it is ,what they do, etc...

Loss prevention.?
Loss Prevention is what they formerly called Security in a store. It's the people who make sure things aren't stolen.

Reply:Loss prevention usually refers to keeping theft down to a minimum for retail stores. The loss prevention staff monitors the hidden surveillance cameras and some actually walk around watching customers to see if they stick something in their pocket. There are many things that people do to steal from stores including changing price stickers and putting small items into larger boxes. The dangerous part is apprehending the suspect without getting yourself beat up, stabbed or even shot at. It does happen.
Reply:loss prevention keeps shrink to a minimum. They come up with new ways to prevent theft in the store (or wherever they are hired). They hold trainings for employers on how to handle theft. A lot of department and retail stores hire loss prevention and it's a pretty good job.
