We had a house guest last weekend (shared a bed). Called us later to tell us he just found out he had contracted scabies and apparently had them while at our house. Nobody in our household has symtpoms of course- Went to doctor and got scrip for NIX lotion. What other options are there? What could I do to be proactive and prevention minded? I'd rather not get them at all.....
Scabies prevention (recently exposed)?
WASH everything that your guest could have possibly touched. Wash in HOT water twice if it would make you feel better.
I used to work as a teacher and contracted scabies from a child that was neglected and had very poor hygiene and scabies isn't much fun.
I'm not sure if there is anything that a doctor could do as a preventive measure if you don't show signs of it yet and you may not at all.
If you do start to show signs of it, do not scratch it and get to the doctor ASAP.
